3. Eligiblity
- Nationality/Citizenship: Candidates must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and East African nations with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Age Limit: The age limit varies between 18 to 32 years depending on the post, as of August 1, 2025. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get a 3-year relaxation, SC/ST candidates get a 5-year relaxation, and PwBD candidates receive a relaxation of 10 to 15 years based on category.
- Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university is required. For specific posts like Junior Statistical Officer or Statistical Investigator, subjects such as Mathematics or Statistics are mandatory. Final-year students may apply but must possess the qualification by August 1, 2025.
- Number of Attempts: There is no official limit on the number of attempts for SSC CGL. However, candidates must adhere to the prescribed age limits based on their category.

5. Application & Correction Fee
- General, OBC : Rs. 100/-

- Correction charges apply to all candidates, regardless of category.

6. How to Apply SSC CGL online
- Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
- Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC portal. (Old OTR from ssc.nic.in is not valid)
- Use a webcam or device camera to capture a live photo during the application process. Pre-uploaded photos are not allowed unless using Aadhaar authentication.
- Fill the SSC CGL 2025 online application form with personal, educational, and contact details.
- Upload scanned signature (10–20 KB, JPEG/JPG format, 6 cm x 2 cm).
- Pay the applicable fee online using BHIM UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking.
- Preview the filled form carefully and submit it before the deadline.
- Download and save a copy of the submitted application form and payment receipt for future reference.
7. Required Documents to Apply SSC CGL Online

- Graduation Degree / Final Year Marksheet (proof of qualification as on or before 01-08-2025)
- Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, in prescribed format)
- Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates, as per Annexures I, IA, XII–XIV if applicable)
- Ex-Servicemen Certificate (if applicable, including discharge or service proof)
- Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates, valid for FY 2025–26)
8. Selection Process of SSC CGL
- Tier-I (CBT): Preliminary examination consisting of objective-type questions in General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
- Tier-II (CBT): Main exam divided into multiple sections:
- Paper-I (Compulsory for all): Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge & Data Entry Test
- Paper-II: For candidates applying to Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator posts
- Data Entry Speed Test (DEST): Qualifying in nature, applicable for specific posts like Tax Assistant. Includes typing test of 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present all required original documents for verification.
- Final Merit: Based on normalized scores of Tier-I and Tier-II (only Paper-I and II, as applicable). DEST/Computer Test is qualifying only.

- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, series, coding-decoding, puzzle solving, decision making, spatial orientation, syllogism, etc.
- General Awareness: Current events, Indian polity, history, geography, economic scene, general science, and static GK.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Number system, simplification, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, data interpretation, and arithmetic problems.
- English Comprehension: Grammar, vocabulary, comprehension passages, sentence improvement, error spotting, antonyms/synonyms.
- Mathematical Abilities: Basic algebra, number system, averages, ratios, profit & loss, geometry, trigonometry, and mensuration.
- Reasoning & General Intelligence: Verbal & non-verbal reasoning, puzzles, analogy, series, syllogism, and matrix-based questions.
- English Language & Comprehension: Vocabulary, grammar, idioms/phrases, comprehension passages, narration, and voice.
- General Awareness: Similar to Tier-I but more in-depth.
- Computer Knowledge: Basics of computers, internet, MS Office, email, typing, and digital security.
- Statistics (Paper-II): Data classification, central tendency, probability, correlation, regression, and index numbers.
- DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): Typing test with a passage requiring 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes (qualifying only).
